ASHUN SOUND MACHINES
Ashun Sound Machines came to us looking for more than a product video—they wanted something as innovative and unconventional as their instruments. We developed two distinct pieces that celebrated both the instruments and the artists behind them.
For the Diosynth, featuring Joe Berry of M83, we leaned fully into the surreal. Shot in Joshua Tree, the film places Joe in an offbeat desert dreamscape—serenading digital spiders, rubber snakes, and cardboard coyotes—blurring the line between performance and visual art. Sweeping drone cinematography grounds the piece in something cinematic, while hand-drawn animation layered throughout transforms it into something playful, strange, and entirely original. The response was immediate and passionate, with viewers calling it “the coolest ad” they’d seen in years and praising its imagination, originality, and rewatchability.
The Leviasynth video with Kaela Sinclair of M83 took a more refined but still distinctive approach. Built around a vibrant, cycling rainbow palette, the piece pairs a clean performance aesthetic with dynamic digital synth infographics—highlighting the instrument’s capabilities while maintaining a strong visual identity that feels both modern and musical.
